Hashi Consulting attended Bio Japan in Yokohama. Dr. Jean-Chretien Norreel discussed the future collaborations between French and Japanese Biotechnology and Healthcare companies with Dr. Renaud Muselier, President of the France South Region and Eurobiomed, Southern France Biocluster. We look forward to the numerous exiting projects and business opportunities that will arise between these two countries.

With more than 17,000 attendees and 1,300 exhibitors, Bio Japan was a great success. Biotechnologies companies from various parts of the world met in Tokyo to envisage future collaborations and partnerships. Dr. Hiroto Izumi, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister, described in his keynote lecture a new innovation strategy put in place by the Japanese government. The ambitious goal of the strategy is for Japan to become the world’s most advanced bio-economy society in 2030 by: (1) indicating social visions and targeted market segments, and making roadmaps by back casting; (2) establishing data platforms in bio related areas including health care, biomaterial and breeding with a consistent architecture; (3) creating innovation hubs that attract outstanding talents and large investment from home and abroad; (4) strengthening the headquarters in a strategic function with participation of the private sector and the academic sector and implementing and following up the strategy integrally.

We look forward to meeting you at BioJapan 2020 at Pacifico, Yokohama from October 9 to October 11, 2020.
